Claude Online Course: How to Actually Learn Claude for Your Business

What to look for in a Claude online course, what you should be able to do by the end of it, and how our self-paced AI Foundations course teaches Claude for real business work.

If you have gone looking for a Claude online course, you have probably found two extremes. Free video playlists that show you where the buttons are, and expensive technical programmes written for developers building on the API. Neither is much use if you run a business and simply want Claude doing real work for you by the end of the week.

This is a plain guide to what a good Claude course should actually teach, how to tell the useful ones from the filler, and what we cover in ours.

What is a Claude online course?

A Claude online course is self-paced training that teaches you to use Anthropic's Claude in your own work rather than just explaining what it is. A good one is built around your workflow: how to set Claude up with context about your business, how to brief it properly, how to check its output, and how to turn a one-off chat into something repeatable.

A useful test: if the course only teaches you to type questions into a chat box, it is a tour, not training. Claude's value for a business owner sits in setup and repetition, not in clever one-liners.

What you should be able to do by the end

Whatever course you choose, hold it to outcomes. By the end you should be able to:

  • Choose the right Claude tool and model for the task in front of you, instead of defaulting to whatever opens first.
  • Set up your account and settings so your business context is loaded once and used in every conversation.
  • Write a brief that gets usable output first time, rather than five rounds of nearly-right.
  • Give Claude your real material, such as pricing, proposals, transcripts and reports, and get sensible work back.
  • Build one repeatable task you run every week, so the time saving compounds.
  • Know where your data goes, what settings to change, and where a human has to stay in the loop.

If a course cannot tell you which of those it delivers, it is selling inspiration.

How to choose between Claude courses

Four things separate the courses worth paying for from the rest.

1. Is it built for business owners or for developers?

Claude has a strong developer following, so a lot of the training out there assumes you are writing code or working with the API. If you are running a services business, a retail business or a professional practice, you want training built around briefs, documents, admin and client work.

2. Does it teach principles, not just clicks?

Claude ships changes often. A course built entirely around today's menus will be out of date within months. Training built around foundations, how the model behaves, how context works, how to structure a brief, still holds when the interface moves.

3. Is it portable?

You should finish knowing where your instructions and systems live and why they are written the way they are, so you could rebuild them elsewhere if you ever needed to. We teach Claude because it is what we use daily, and we build so nothing is trapped.

4. Do you get something to work in, not just watch?

Watching a video is not learning a tool. Look for a workbook or set of exercises you complete with your own business material.

Free Claude training versus a paid course

Free material is genuinely good for orientation. Anthropic's own documentation and support pages are worth reading, and there is no shortage of walkthrough videos.

Where free content tends to fall over is sequence and accountability. You get scattered tips rather than a path, nothing tailored to a small business, and no one checking whether you actually built anything. That is what you are paying for in a course: a sensible order, business context, and a finished setup at the end instead of a folder of bookmarks.

What we teach in AI Foundations

Our AI Foundations online course is the self-paced version of the masterclass we have run in person with New Zealand business owners. It is video plus a live workbook, with lifetime access, and it is built to be done in an afternoon rather than dragged out over eight weeks.

It covers knowing your tools and which model to reach for, the settings that save you hours, loading your business context so Claude stops sounding generic, briefing work properly, and building your first repeatable task. There is also a course assistant, Bella, inside the portal so you can ask questions as you go instead of getting stuck.

Pricing is NZ$400 for re:ampd members and NZ$500 for non-members, one payment, lifetime access. If you would rather learn in a room with other business owners, the in person AI Masterclass covers the same foundations in a full day. If you want the work built with you rather than by you, that is custom AI implementation.

re:ampd is a proud Claude Partner, so you learn from a trusted source.

Where to start if you are still unsure

Do one thing before you buy anything. Write down the three tasks that eat the most of your week. Admin, quoting, reporting, the customer questions you answer for the hundredth time. That list is your brief, and it makes any training you do far more valuable, ours included.

Then pick the format that suits how you learn. Self-paced if you want to start tonight, in person if you do your best work with other people in the room. Either way, see the full range of options on our online training page.
